When you place an order, create an account, apply for a credit account, or contact us, we may collect:

• Full name, email address, phone number, and mailing/shipping addresses
• Billing address and payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers)
• Third-party/blind shipping recipient addresses you designate
• Artwork files, logos, design assets, and other creative materials submitted for production
• Business information in connection with Net 30 credit applications (company name, officer details, trade references)
• Communications you send us, including support requests, proof feedback, and order notes

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• IP address and general geographic location
• Browser type, operating system, and device identifiers
• Pages viewed, links clicked, time spent, and referring URLs
• Session tokens, authentication data, and cookies (see Section 7)

2.3 Information from Third Parties

We may receive information from payment processors, fraud-detection services, and logistics partners in connection with fulfilling your orders.

• Processing, fulfilling, and shipping your orders
• Sending order confirmations, shipping notifications, and proof-approval requests

• Processing Net 30 credit applications and managing credit accounts

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

4.1 Service Providers

• Stripe — payment processing and fraud prevention
• Shippo — shipping label generation and carrier rate calculation (UPS, USPS, FedEx)
• Supabase — secure cloud database and authentication infrastructure
• ZeptoMail — transactional email delivery
• Numeral — sales tax calculation and compliance
• Zoho Books — accounting and invoice management

4.2 Shipping Carriers

When your order ships, we share your shipping address with the selected carrier (UPS, USPS, or FedEx) solely for delivery purposes. If you elect blind shipping, the carrier label is masked; however, carrier internal manifests may still reflect underlying shipment data.

4.3 Legal Disclosures

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of BigDogButtons, our customers, or the public.

4.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred. We will notify you of any such change and any choices you may have.

5. Data Retention

• Order records: minimum 7 years (tax, accounting, and legal compliance)
• Account information: duration of account plus 3 years after closure
• Artwork files: 12 months after your last order (you may request earlier deletion)
• Credit application data: 5 years or as required by applicable law
• Marketing preferences: until you opt out or withdraw consent

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS), staff access controls on a need-to-know basis, secure database hosting with row-level security, and regular security reviews. No method of electronic transmission is 100% secure; we will notify you of any data breach as required by applicable law.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session and authentication state, remember your cart and order preferences, analyze website traffic, and detect fraudulent activity. You may disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect site functionality. We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals.

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

Because BigDogButtons is headquartered in California, California residents have the following rights under the CCPA and CPRA:

• Right to Know — request disclosure of categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, sources, purposes, and third-party recipients
• Right to Delete — request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
• Right to Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information
• Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing — we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
• Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information — we collect sensitive personal information only as necessary to provide our services

9. Marketing Communications

We send promotional emails only with your consent. Opt out at any time by clicking "Unsubscribe" in any marketing email or emailing privacy@bigdogbuttons.com. Transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping notifications, proof-approval requests) are required to fulfill your orders and are not subject to opt-out.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us at privacy@bigdogbuttons.com and we will promptly delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered account holders or by a prominent notice on our website. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
